Following a hugely successful launch of “Mamma Mia the Party” themed restaurant in Stockholm, there are now plans in place to launch one in London by the end of 2017. Headed up by Abba Guitarist Bjorn, this follows Benny’s successful Stockholm hotel plus the Abba Museum also based in the Swedish capital.
Ulvaeus has applied for permission to build a Greek taverna-style restaurant where guests can eat while a show goes on around them— in Waterloo (where else?!?)
The star originally opened a similar concept in Stockholm, in 2015, which uses some of the songs from the hit Mamma Mia! musical involving new characters and story. The full ABBA four-piece reunited for the first time in eight years for the Stockholm opening.
Ulvaeus spoke to CNN about his Stockholm venue, saying: “At the end of each performance people stand up and sing and dance in the aisles. “There’s like a party mood. I always had a feeling that if people could have gone on to have a party they would.”
